Mayor’s Update – March 12, 2018 YOUR VOTE MATTERS

Please come out to vote for:

>Referendum Question (listed below)

When: Tuesday, March 20th, Polls open from 12:00 noon to 9:00pm

Location: South Nyack Village Hall, 282 South Broadway, South Nyack, NY

Referendum  Question –  On March 20, 2018 the Village of South Nyack shall hold a referendum to determine the following:

“Whether the Village Law shall be amended regarding the date of the general Village election so as to move the said date from the month of March of each year to the month of November of each year and changing the administration of the election from the Village of South Nyack to the Rockland County Board of Elections.”

(Yes or No)

The majority of the Board of Trustees voted to have South Nyack voters decide if our local election should be moved to the general election day in November primarily to engage a larger number of residents in the voting process.

March votes – 230, November votes – 833

2016 Election:
March votes – 75, November votes – 1,384

2015 Election:
March votes – 76, November votes – 588
