The Village has announced the publication of a Request for Proposal (RFP) to conduct a feasibility study for the Village of
South Nyack Economic Sustainability Initiative. The study will explore ways to build and maintain economic and cultural
sustainability for the Village.
The State’s original plans to widen the Thruway through South Nyack along with replacing the Tappan Zee Bridge
stimulated discussions in the Village about leveraging that project to bring benefits to South Nyack. What became known
as the Village of South Nyack Economic Sustainability Initiative identified redevelopment of Exit 10 as a way to bring a
new source of revenue to alleviate taxes, and to create a new village center to regain the identity lost when the
Thruway bisected South Nyack in the 1950’s.
