As part of construction of the new bridge’s Shared Use Path, traffic signal installation work started this week at the intersection of Clinton Avenue and South Franklin Street. The work is expected to last approximately six weeks.
Construction crews will be working in phases, effectively at one corner at a time, starting with the trail head (southeast) corner.
Crews will be excavating for traffic signal and pedestrian pole foundations, as well as under-roadway conduit.
I have been assured that any open areas will be protected and covered at the end of each shift for the safety of the public.
Additionally, the contractor will employ flaggers any time a road crossing is needed to ensure a safe traffic flow.
Thank you again for your understanding and patience.
