We are happy to announce that our Gesner Avenue Park, damaged by Hurricane Sandy has been rebuilt and is open again. Park benches will soon be reinstalled.
This past Friday, December 12th, Chairman of the Rockland County Legislature, Alden Wolfe and our Legislator Nancy Low-Hogan met with me and members of the South Nyack Task Force. They both agree with us that the Shared Use Path should end at Interchange 10, the true “Gateway to Rockland County”, as the terminus is described by the Thruway Authority.
I am continuing to press for a formal meeting with Governor Cuomo. Our request was sent with a copy of the “South Nyack and the NewNYBridge Shared Use Path: A Chronology of Events”. This document is published in its entirety on our Village website www.southnyack.ny.gov and a summary outline version is attached here, http://126.96.36.199/~southnyackny/sup-chronology-of-events/
Please contact me at (845) 358-0287 or by email at Bonnie.Christian@southnyack.ny.gov with any questions or comments. In addition, Task Force members and I are available for meetings in homes where neighbors can gather for conversations about these critical issues facing South Nyack.
And, as a reminder, the Village Board of Trustees meets on the 2nd and 4th Tuesday of each month. Please join us.
As the Holiday season starts this week, I wish you and your family the very best,
