As you know, the Thruway Authority has been busy building a new signalized intersection at Hillside Avenue and Route 9W as part of construction of the new bridge’s Shared Use Path. I’ve been informed that this new configuration, which provides access to both the northbound and southbound Thruway, is expected to open to the public during the week of Oct. 7th. This means that the current southbound on-ramp from South Broadway will be permanently closed. If you recall, we worked diligently with the state for these improvements as part of our agreement to have the path’s Rockland Landing relocated from our village streets onto Thruway-owned land at Interchange 10.
I’m attaching a fact sheet that provides step-by-step directions to the new access point. Click Here. When this change takes effect next month, riders of Hudson Link buses should use the new shelters on South Franklin Street Extension (Road F) as buses will no longer stop at Clinton Avenue and South Broadway.
Additionally, please take note that two new traffic signals in our village are expected to be activated early next week. One is at the intersection of Clinton Avenue and South Franklin Street; while the other is at South Franklin Street Extension (Road F) and Hillside Avenue.
Thank you again for your understanding and patience.
Enjoy your weekend,
