STATEMENT BY SOUTH NYACK MAYOR BONNIE CHRISTIAN ON REJECTION OF THE NYACK COLLEGE APPLICATION
The Village of South Nyack, New York has been and remains a Village that follows the rule of law at all times. The Village Law in South Nyack as set forth in the Village Code does not allow a process to amend any Special Permit issued to Nyack College. When the applicable law was brought to the Village’s attention, the Village Board acted promptly in fairness to the Applicant. That was the basis for the Village Board of Trustees’ vote last evening and no other basis.
Village Laws allow the Village to look at any use of property in our Village. The Village has not and will not look improperly to whom may be the seller or purchaser of any property in the Village. The Village welcomes any and all land use applications that comply with all Laws, Codes, Rules and Regulations. As the Nyack College Application is no longer before the Village, there will be no further comment by any Village Official or representative.
