Mayor’s Update – May 11, 2018
Good news!! This past week South Nyack was awarded a $42,000 grant from the New NY Bridge Project Community Benefit Fund to be used to conduct a parking study and to implement a parking program in our Village. The Village Trustees and I would like to thank our Parking Committee (made up of Chairperson Trustee Nancy Willen, South Nyack residents Bruce Forrest and Kendol Leader, and former Police Chief Brent Newbury) for their dedication and time spent addressing our parking concerns.
I am proud and pleased to announce that our South Nyack resident and Trustee, Nancy Willen, will be honored at the 2018 Power of Age Conference to be held on May 23rd at the Rockland Community College Field House. Congratulations to Nancy on being named the 2018 Senior of the Year!
For those South Nyack residents who are served by the Village of Nyack Water Department, Nyack Water will be flushing water mains throughout the entire water distribution system as follows:
Nyack College Area of South Nyack:
Thursday, May 17th.
Remainder of South Nyack:
Monday, May 21st through Thursday, May 24th.
Flushing will take place between the hours of 9:00 pm and 6:00 am.
As a result of the flushing, your water may be temporarily discolored and you might experience a temporary reduction in water pressure.
Mayor’s Meet & Greet:
Beginning on Saturday, May 19th I will be holding a monthly “Meet & Greet” at Village Hall from 9:00 – 10:00 am. Please stop by to say hello and enjoy a cup of coffee and a doughnut. I look forward to chatting with you.
Enjoy your weekend and Happy Mother’s Day,
