Thanks to all who attended last night’s South Nyack Village Board meeting. Just as a reminder, you can find video recordings of our meetings posted on our website, southnyack.ny.gov (under the heading – Documents).
As I mentioned at the meeting, I have been forwarding residents’ concerns to New NY Bridge and NYS Thruway Authority officials. They have agreed to review design modifications that can be feasibly carried out within the constraints of the approved plan without a new Environmental Assessment. Simultaneously, our Village Attorney is researching our rights regarding the use of the Village-owned Esposito Trail as a secondary access to the Shared Use Path, and studying possible repercussions resulting from the State maintaining this path to determine any chance of potential future ownership by the State.
Last night, many spoke about what has been accomplished by the hard work of individual and groups of residents, committees and government officials, as well as what we all might have done better in retrospect. It was clear to me as I listened to everyone express their concerns, share their suggestions and offer their support that our Village is made up of caring individuals who are passionate about their environment and quality of life. Together we shared productive comments about the Shared Use Path, future parking concerns, our vision for the future use of the land within Interchange 10 and a community-minded Comprehensive Plan. We are fortunate to have such pro-active community members willing to fight for what they believe is best for South Nyack.
As soon as Bridge and Thruway officials have a response to our concerns and suggestions, we will let you know. You may submit any additional questions or comments by email to: firstname.lastname@example.org or by mail to me at 282 South Broadway, South Nyack, N.Y. 10960
The Board of Trustees meets on the second and fourth Tuesday of each month and residents are encouraged to attend. If you are not on our email list, please email a request to: email@example.com
