As part of the ongoing effort to develop alternatives for the terminus of the bike/pedestrian shared use path within Exit 10, engineers from the New York State Thruway Authority will install temporary traffic counting devices at 5 locations in South Nyack. These devices will be installed near the Thruway entrance ramp off South Broadway, on South Franklin near the Thruway overpass, on South Broadway near the intersection with Clinton Avenue, on Hillside Avenue, and on the Thruway entrance and exit ramps at Interchange 10. You may notice these installations taking place Friday, June 5th after the morning rush hour and will be completed before the evening rush hours. The devices will be in place for approximately one week.
I and the other members of the Bridge Task Force appreciate that the Thruway Authority continues to gather more information about the amount of traffic using our roadways as we discuss solutions for the terminus of the shared use path. We share a commitment to developing a plan that will benefit the residents of South Nyack as well as those who will be using the shared use path.
