On Labor Day, Monday, September 4th from 11:00am – 3:00pm, the Village will host a one day
“Pop Up Park” event for South Nyack residents in the Village owned property formally named Towt Recreation Area. The area is located at 115 Piermont Avenue in South Nyack near Cedar Hill Avenue.
This land is one of two river front properties that the Village of South Nyack owns. The space has not been developed and has been closed to the public for several decades. A portion of the land has been cleared so that we could temporarily transform this area into a fun and funky space featuring inflatable loungers, picnic tables and reclaimed wood seating.
The Board and I invite Villagers to pack a picnic and head down to the river to check out the park and enjoy its amazing river views. On a side note, pets are not able to attend this event.
I want to thank Deputy Mayor Alain Leinbach, resident Annie Hekker Weiss; and DPW Superintendent Jim Johnson and his crew for bringing this idea to life.
Looking forward to seeing you on Labor Day,
Bonnie Christian
