The Village of Nyack, with the expressed support of the villages of South Nyack and Upper Nyack, has been awarded a grant from the Community Benefits Fund of the New NY Bridge project. This grant provides funding to create a regional bicycle and pedestrian master plan. This document will be written by a qualified contractor. The choice of contractor will be based on the responses to a Request For Proposal (RFP).
It is important that South Nyack’s concerns be adequately and clearly articulated in the RFP and be monitored to the fullest extent possible during the plan development. South Nyack is seeking candidates to serve on a small committee (3 – 5 members) appointed by me with the approval of the Board to ensure South Nyack’s representation during this process.
The responsibilities of committee members will include attendance at preliminary meetings (probably held weekday evenings at South Nyack Village Hall), attendance at Village of Nyack meetings for the preparation of the RFP, and communicating South Nyack’s feedback on draft versions of the master plan.
The committee members will include at least one Village Trustee and will report to me and the Board of Trustees.
If you are interested in helping to ensure that this master plan meets the needs of our Village and wish to serve on this committee, please contact me at bonnie.christian@southnyack.ny.gov
or 845-358-0287.
Also, an important reminder that the Village of South Nyack Economic Sustainability Initiative Feasibility Study public presentation will be held this Tuesday, May 30th from 6:30 – 8:30pm at the Living Christ Church (151 South Broadway, South Nyack). The Board and residents will hear about redevelopment and design considerations for Interchange 10.
Enjoy your holiday weekend,
Bonnie Christian
